_MMM8012Mauricio Mendoza studied Mass Communications at the University of Miami. His minor was in photography and cinematography. He is a seasoned colorist and expert in different printing processes, both offset and digital.

As a professional photographer has been successful in advertising, aerial and editorial photography. Working in the South Florida area and in Colombia, through the years he has done innumerable jobs for main ad agencies, covers and spreads for local and international magazines as well as direct clients. In Colombia, he created and was the photographer/publisher of “Sueños” calendar, first of it’s type in the country and famous for the quality of it’s photography, design, printing and for having become the launching pad for Colombia’s most famous models and actresses. To date “Sueños” holds the record for the largest calendar circulation.

 

 

Pioneer of digital photography in Colombia, in 1995 he published a digital diary version of his “Sueños” calendar, featuring Miss Universe finalists Paula Andrea Betancur and Carolina Gómez. In 1996 he produced a CD for the National Banker’s Association, combining the “Sueños” digital diary with the memoirs of the Congress of Latin American Banking Automatization, which took place in Cartagena. In 1997 and again in 1998 he produced the Aviancaplus Digital Diary, which was Avianca’s gift to it’s frequent flyers.

Mauricio is an expert in Photoshop, having started to work with the program since 1993. He became a member of NAPP (National Association of Photoshop Professionals) and has attended over thirty training workshops with world renowned masters.

After a 15 year experience with aerial photography using helicopters, Mr. Mendoza became interested in drones as an outstanding tool for these endeavors. He took a training course in the US with a photographer/pilot, started practicing and in 2015 graduated from IEAC a prestigious Air Academy in Colombia, authorized by the civil aviation authority (Aerocivil). He currently serves as president of CDG (Colombia Drone Group), the largest drone pilot association in the country.
